The orifice plate is the most commonly used primary flow element. Its simplicity and sufficient accuracy, the orifice plate is one of the most economical and reliable solution many measurement applications.
Orifice plates can be used in a wide range of applications: gas processing, oil refining, power generation. General Vessels can supply oriϐice plates designed in accordance to customer’s specification and suitable for any kind of installations, like RF, FF and RTJ sealing surface.

SQUARE EDGE PLATES

Suitable for application with clean fluids, liquids or gases

  • Design Standard: ISO 5167-2
  • Line Size: DN15 (1/2”) to DN1200 (48”)
  • Beta ratio: 0.2 ÷ 0.75
  • Accuracy (Flow Rate): Typically ±2÷3% (≤ ±1% if installed in a calibrated spool)
  • Materials: See “How to order” section
  • Pressure Rating: 300# to 2500# (other ratings on available on request)

 

CONICAL ENTRANCE & QUARTER CIRCLE

Widely used for applications with viscous ϐluid and low Reynolds Number

  • Design Standard: ISO/TR 15377
  • Line Size: DN15 (1/2”) to DN1200 (48”)
  • Beta ratio: 0.100 ÷ 0.316 (conical entrance) / 0.245 ÷ 0.600 (quarter circle)
  • Accuracy (Flow Rate): Typically ±2÷3% (≤ ±1% if installed in a calibrated spool)
  • Material: See “How to order” section
  • Pressure Rating: 300# to 2500# (other ratings on available on request)

 

ECCENTRIC BORE

Recommended in case of dirty ϐluids, two-phase ϐluids or presence of particles in the ϐluid

  • Design Standard: ISO/TR 15377
  • Line Size: DN100 (4”) to DN1200 (48”)
  • Beta ratio: 0.46 ÷ 0.84
  • Accuracy (Flow Rate): ±2 ÷ 2.5% (as a function of Beta Ratio)
